Barcelona, May 3, 2017 Cinematic VR artists or any artist willing to experiment with binaural sound in other applications will be able to apply for a grant to join the BINCI project, which has been selected as one of the eligible R&D projects for VERTIGO’s program of artistic residences.

BINCI, focused on delivering binaural production tools for artists to produce immersive music and audio contents, has been recognized by VERTIGO as one innovative R&D project in the field of information and communication technologies.

The artist receiving the grant will be able to experiment with the project’s set of software tools for creating, mixing and monitoring 3D audio for his VR cinematic and immersive content. The artist will be involved in the BINCI products’ design and testing, in addition to create his own content based on the BINCI technology. The material will be disseminated and given visibility throughout the project’s channels while the artist will keep the due credits to it.

The residence will be located in Eurecat facilities in Barcelona, Spain, but visits to the premises of VPOP and ANTENNA in Berlin could be arranged. Suitable candidates are welcome to apply for a residency in the BINCI project until May 22nd 2017.

The VERTIGO project is a Coordination and Support Action (CSA) supported by the H2020 Program of the European Commission with the goal to boost synergies between artists, creative people and technologists. Their program of artistic residencies, with a total budget of 900 k€, aims to fund the participation of at least 45 artists in R&D selected projects.
